Making their BraveMove
This is a letter to express gratitude for your kindness. My name is Chelsey Millard a graduate from Cypress Mandela training center. I have met you gentlemen about 11 weeks ago, when you heard my story about how and why I joined CMTC. You believed in me. You encouraged and supported my success though Cypress Mandela training center. For that I am greatly appreciative. Being a student at Cypress Mandela Training Center has changed my life for the better. In the last 16 weeks of attending C.M.T.C. I have learned so many things. From responsibility and genuine hard-work. To taking initiative and doing the necessary things to achieve all tasks and assignments. I have learned About Covid-19 and have had the proper training on how to manage safety and well-being for myself, my family, community and school/workplace. I’ve learned how to manage everyday tasks like wearing masks 24-7 and proper hygiene, living in the “new normal”, so that I can keep myself, my classmates, my family and my community around me safe as well. I wasn’t very physically fit nor did I like to work out but everyday training with my classmates has given me the confidence to get out of my comfort zone and workout to gain the physical strength I need to make it through a hardworking day. I am very proud of myself for carrying rebar everyday keeping up with other classmates and pushing us to work harder and faster while running with rebar with no prize in the end and no first place just knowing that we did it. And that’s all that matters at the end of the day. I’ve leaned hard work and what it means to be a team. I’ve also learned a lot about the trades and what a hardworking fruitful future looks like making a living wage, instead of the monotonous future path I was on as being a full time waitress with no other experience under my belt. C.M.T.C. Has given me a bright future full off bright pathways to choice from on this next journey of my life. My future was very bleak with no direction. I had no dreams or goals set in place. Now within this short period of time I have set goals which I have already started to accomplish. And I now also know what it really means to dream and how to make those dreams become reality. I am very fortunate and so very blessed to be a student at C.M.T.C.. My biggest takeaway from Cypress is that I can now say that I am drug free!!! That alone opens doors. Not to mention the ones that have opened because of my hard work and my dedication to Cypress . You helped me immensely with successfully completing the training course with certifications and obtaining full time employment. With out your support, I am sure I would have plain out quit and continued to live the dark, homeless and bleak path I was on. I AM now stronger than I ever thought I could be! I AM employed. I AM courageous, smart, worthy and I AM WORTH IT! I AM grateful for you supporting me through this journey and helping me accomplish my goals! I AM TRULY GRATEFUL FOR YOU. May God bless you. Sincerely,Chelsey Millard
